Summary
Enclosed air in pressure system of hydropower plants can be evacuated by means of structural deaeration devices, in order to avoid negative effects on the operation as well as on the structure. Within the scope of a research project design guidelines for deaeration devices were developed. Large scale model tests were carried out to investigate the air-water flow in horizontal and downwardly inclined large conduits, in deaeration chambers as well as in standpipes.Project Duration
